Executive Summary
The Lao-China-Asia Pacific Cooperation Center (LCAPCC) is a strategic initiative proposed by Savannakhet University to establish a premier regional hub for academic, economic, and cultural exchange. In response to the transformative growth of Laos-China relations—marked by projects like the Laos-China Railway and bilateral trade approaching $20 billion—and the accelerating integration of the Asia-Pacific region, this Center will fill a critical institutional gap.
Positioned at the crossroads of the East-West Economic Corridor, the LCAPCC will leverage Savannakhet University’s unique location to serve as a bridge. Its mission is to advance knowledge through collaborative research, cultivate leadership through innovative education, and foster sustainable development partnerships across five pillars: academic research, language and culture, business innovation, policy dialogue, and capacity building.
The Center will elevate the university’s international profile, provide Lao students with unparalleled regional opportunities, and serve as a vital resource for provincial and national development. We seek the university’s endorsement in principle and support for initial seed funding to launch this project, which promises significant returns in prestige, partnership, and impact.
